Required Study Materials for NUFYP Students

At CPS, we are committed to ensuring that our students have the tools they need for academic success. All NUFYP students are required to use their personal laptops or tablets for quizzes, exams, and other study-related activities.

Why This Is Important

To participate in quizzes and exams, all NUFYP students must use the Respondus LockDown Browser, a specialized software that ensures secure online testing.

To use this software, your device must meet the following system requirements:

Compatible Devices and Operating Systems

1. Windows

• Supported Versions: Windows 11 and 10*

Note:

• Devices using “S mode” or “SE” are not compatible.

• LockDown Browser is not available in the Windows App Store.

• Minimum RAM: 2 GB (4 GB recommended for exams using webcams).

• Free Disk Space: 200 MB.

2. Mac

• Supported Versions: macOS 10.15 to 15.0+.

• Minimum RAM: 2 GB (4 GB recommended for exams using webcams).

• Free Disk Space: 200 MB.

3. iPad

• Supported Version: iPadOS 12.0 or later.

• Important: The iPad is the only tablet that supports LockDown Browser. Other tablets (e.g.,Android) are not compatible and should not be purchased for your studies.

When selecting a laptop or tablet, ensure it meets these technical specifications. This will guarantee compatibility with the tools required for your courses and a seamless learning experience.
