Nauryz: NUFYP Students Promote Kazakh Language, Identity, and Culture
Nauryz is not just a celebration of spring but also a time to revive and honor cultural heritage. As part of the Foundations of Leadership course, NUFYP students at Nazarbayev University are implementing Student Leadership Challenge (SLC) 2024-2025 projects. Each team chooses a field they are passionate about, and some focused on promoting Kazakh language, identity, and culture.
Kezeń Music Concert The Ornek team (Arsen Adilbekov, Zhaniya Zharas, Nurali Akimbay, Baktiyar Atygayev) invited the popular band Kezeń to showcase how Kazakh music blends tradition with modernity. Their performance demonstrated that Kazakh culture is not just a part of history—it is a living, evolving identity. Kazakh
Ethno Fair The Sanaly Soz team (Aiganym Kazybek, Shynar Magydakassymkyzy, Diana Assylkhanova, Adil Ongar, Zharkyn Khuatbek, Yernaz Bolatov) organized Kazakh Ethno Fair, where students and guests enjoyed traditional games and cuisine. The event featured asyk atu, arm wrestling, khantalapai, langi tebu, and a Kazakh language and literature quiz. Winners received coupons exchangeable for traditional snacks like kymyz and tea with milk.
