Born and bred in Burgas, Bulgaria, Plamen left the Black Sea-swept shores of home for a life of international exploration and adventure. He has traveled, studied, and worked in the US, UK, Africa – and now Kazakhstan. After completing a Bachelor’s and three Master’s degrees in Europe and in the US, he earned a PhD from the University of Southern California for his work in the area of comparative literature. His interests and hobbies include independent research and writing, guitar, and table tennis. A confirmed word lover, he is currently germinating ideas for two books on English vocabulary. Having spent the last four years at Nazarbaev University, he is a big fan of Kazakh culture and hopes to learn more about it.
