I am an EAP Teaching Fellow in NUZYP, the master’s foundation program. I have been working in language education since 2010 and have held various roles in institutions in my home country of New Zealand, as well as Vietnam, East Timor, and Kazakhstan. I completed my MA in TESOL with the University of Manchester, specializing in teacher training. My current research interests are centered around language policy in education and development. Travelling on and off the beaten track, history, and exploring culture are my main interests. I have enjoyed living in and learning about Kazakhstan for just over a year now, and greatly admire its diverse and expansive landscapes.
