I am originally from Oxford and I have been teaching since I finished university in 2006. I have been lucky enough to have taught in Japan, South Korea, Poland, Oman, Vietnam, and now Kazakhstan. I joined Nazarbayev University in January 2016 and I was initially shocked by the -30 degree temperatures. However, I slowly got used to it and now it is quite normal.
I have an MA in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), and I also have several teaching qualifications including the DELTA. I have been teaching Academic English since 2011.
I love aspects of each country I have lived in. For example, In Kazakhstan I enjoy eating beshbarmak. I also like reading non-fiction, and Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari is one of my favourite books. To keep fit, I try to run regularly, and I have participated in some of the 10km races in Nur-Sultan.
I look forward to meeting you this year.
