I am from Australia with a Russian/Armenian background, and I speak fluent Russian. Prior to becoming an English teacher, I worked in the Performing Arts, where I specialized in voice production and pronunciation. I started teaching English nearly 20 years ago, and received a Master’s degree in ESL from the University of Technology in Sydney. I taught English to international students in Sydney until I moved to Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, in 2007 where I continued my teaching carrier for 11 years at The Higher Colleges of Technology, the Petroleum Institute, and Khalifa University. In August 2018, I moved to Astana, now Nur-Sultan, to teach at Nazarbayev University as an EAP Teaching Fellow.
I have travelled widely in Europe, Asia and Middle East, as I enjoy learning about different cultures and languages. However, my main hobby is Tai Chi Chu’an, Chen style, a Chinese Martial Art. I was privileged to have studied with a Grand Master, Chen Xiaowang, while living in Sydney, and have been practicing it ever since.
