I was born in Oxford, in England. I studied French and Italian Languages and History at university, after which I started teaching. My first job was at a secondary school in Italy. After working in Spain for a couple of years, I went to Poland, where I stayed for 10 years. While I was there, I worked at the British Council and, later, in 2002, I started teaching EAP. I then spent some time in the UK, and had shorter term jobs in China and Azerbaijan. I moved to Kazakhstan and started working at NU in 2010, when the university first opened.
I try to travel as much as I can, when I have free time, and I have visited around 80 countries. I enjoy sports, both watching and playing.
