Andrew Cooper is from the United Kingdom. He worked in Finance and Marketing before studying for a Postgraduate Certificate in Education and taking up teaching in London. His first teaching outside of the United Kingdom was in the newly independent country of Namibia in 1994, where he was involved in secondary education and teacher training. This was followed by an appointment as an advisor to the Education Ministry of a small island nation in the Caribbean. He went on to teach Mathematics, Economics and Business in the Middle East, Nepal and China, preparing students for study at English speaking universities. He joined Nazarbayev University as a Teaching Fellow in 2013.
He has two Masters degrees, MSc Mathematics and MA Education. He also has two undergraduate degrees, BSc (hons) Mathematics and Management and BSc (hons) Mathematics and Statistics.
