I am originally from Texas, where I attended Texas Christian University and earned a BA in English and French. I later attended Southern Methodist University, completing an MA in English. While in school, I tutored for a division of Kaplan Test Prep. After finishing my studies, I returned to Colorado and worked as a snowboard instructor at the Vail and Beaver Creek Ski Resorts. At the same time, I was an adjunct professor at Colorado Mountain College, teaching English Literature, Composition, and Speech. In 2004, I moved to La Roche sur Yon, France where I worked at a Teacher Training College as an English Language Assistant. In 2006, I tutored at what is now the Vail Ski and Snowboard Academy, which provides the academic program for young competitive skiers and snowboarders, and began teaching English and French at Vail Christian High School. In 2009, I left the mountains and moved to the desert in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where I taught EAP at a medical university, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences. I became an EAP Teaching Fellow at NU in 2018 and have been in Astana since August 2018.
Last year, I bought a horse with a friend, and enjoy horseback riding at Tulpar. I also enjoy traveling whenever I can, and snowboarding, hiking, and yoga.
