Entry requirements
- Certificate of Complete Secondary Education
- IELTS- 6.0 with a minimum of 5.0 in each section; or
- TOEFL iBT 60 (writing -16, reading- 6, speaking-15, listening-5);
- NUET test results

Program outcome
- The Program provides intensive personal development, study skills, mathematics, and academic language proficiency preparation for the undergraduate programs of Nazarbayev University.
NUFYP is “Nazarbayev University Foundation Year Program.” It is an academic program at NU that prepares students to study at a highly competitive, research university such as NU or other international universities.
Why does NU and many UK universities offer foundation programs? Because studying in a prominent research university is different from what students have done in their secondary schools. It helps students be successful in making the transition.

The NUFYP curriculum has three courses that develops university skills: English for Academic Purposes, Mathematics, and Leadership. These courses focus on the subject knowledge universities value, such as, sophisticated English language skills, mathematical reasoning, and critical thinking. In addition, NUFYP teachers work with students to develop university study skills, decision-making and time management practices, personal confidence, and disciplined habits.
So, what is NUFYP? It is NU’s special program that will make your undergraduate studies better—academically and personally—and put you on the fast track to university success!
